Fine summer weather lias been very general, somewhat cooler on the coast, but very warm during tlie day on the Mainland, especially in the valley of the Thompson liver. Hush lires have been prevalent in many sections, and particularly on the coasts adjoining the Straits. Light rain fell on the lower mainland over Hie [eraser delta. At Victoria no rain has fallen since 1'lst July. On Friday 123rd inst. a depression of some depth developed on the upper mainland extending southward to the eastern section of Oregon. and warm with some showers and thunderstorms, chiefly in Oregon and Washington. I nthe North West fairly good weather lias prevailed and the rainfall reported in the various provinces was as follows:

Alberta, rain, 20 inch., one thunderstorm.

Saskatchewan, rain, 50 inch. Assinaboia, ruin, 41 inch., five thunderstorms.

Manitoba, rain, 10 inch., one thunderstorm.

•Port Arthur, rain, .",(") inch. At Victoria, ."11 hours and -IS minutes of bright sunshine were registered; the highest temperature, 72-3, was on the 22ud inst., the lowest. 40.4, 011 the 21st; no rain.

At Westminster the rainfall was .20 inch; highest temperature. S2, on 23rd; lowest, 48, on 21st.

At Kamloops the highest temperature 110, was en the 2-lth. and the lowest, HO, <m the 21st ; no rain.

At Barkerville the highest temperature was 7S on tlie 25th, end the lowest.
